What is Sexual Violence?

Sexual Violence can be verbal, visual or anything that forces a person to join in unwanted sexual contact or attention.

Sexual Violence

  • Rape:  unwanted sex in oral, anal, or vaginal penetration of the victim by body parts or objects using force, threats of bodily harm, or by taking advantage of a victim who is incapable of giving consent.

  • Sexual Assault:  any forced or unwanted sexual activity, including rape, incest, sexual abuse, and molestation.   

  • Molestation:  any forced or unwanted touching part of body, such as breasts, buttocks or genitals.

  • Harassment:  aggressive pressure or intimidation.

  • Stalking:  following you;  driving by your home, school or job;  call you repeatedly;  threatening to hurt you or your family, friends and/or pets; damaging your home, car or other property.
